Dentures are artificial teeth that aim to reconstruct damaged teeth or fill the place of missing teeth and eliminate defects. Dentures, which are applied based on the health, aesthetics and comfort of the tissues, are performed with personalized applications in line with the condition, needs and expectations of each patient. As a result, the patient’s lost chewing function is improved, while comfort is provided in biting and chewing movements. In addition, the deteriorated oral structure and general appearance of the face are corrected. In this direction, dental prosthesis treatments are health-oriented aesthetic dental applications that improve the function and aesthetic appearance of the teeth and increase the quality of life.<\/p>\n

What are the Types of Dental Prosthesis?<\/b><\/p>\n

Dental prostheses, defined as artificial teeth that replace missing teeth or aim to correct dental defects, are applied in different ways according to the person’s mouth and tooth structure, tooth root, number and location of missing teeth or degree of damage to the tooth.<\/p>\n

At this stage, dental prostheses vary in a way that offers the most suitable solution for the tooth according to the needs, aesthetic concerns and socio-economic status of the patients. In this respect, dental prostheses are divided into 4 groups. These are:<\/p>\n

Fixed prostheses<\/b><\/p>\n

Removable prostheses<\/b><\/p>\n

Implant-supported prostheses<\/b><\/p>\n

Maxillofacial prostheses.<\/b><\/p>\n

Fixed Prostheses<\/b><\/p>\n

Fixed prostheses, which are supported by the person’s natural teeth or applied directly on natural teeth, are dentistry practices focused on correcting people’s tooth deficiencies and related aesthetic defects. Fixed prostheses, which are the closest type of prosthesis to the natural tooth form among dental prostheses, have a structure that imitates permanent teeth with their ability to not move in the mouth.<\/p>\n

Fixed prostheses are an application that requires the natural tooth itself or its support, and in this sense, they are not suitable for all types of edentulism. In order for fixed prostheses to be applied, there must be at least two strong and long-rooted retaining teeth on both sides of the tooth-missing area. Accordingly, patients for whom fixed prostheses are preferred are generally those with a single tooth missing or a single tooth deformity or multiple tooth gaps with tooth support in two parts.<\/p>\n

Fixed prostheses are basically diversified with crown and bridge applications. In addition, inlay and onlay fillings are also used to strengthen these applications.<\/p>\n

Crown<\/b><\/p>\n

A crown is a fixed prosthesis type applied to damaged teeth where filling application is insufficient. In this application, the tooth is reduced in certain parts and covered with the most suitable material, thus achieving a more aesthetic and natural appearance and a more solid structure. This coating, applied with a special adhesive, cannot be removed by the patient. Crown coating treatment;<\/p>\n

Inadequate tooth support,
Preventing tooth breakage in cases where the tooth structure is weak,
Restoration of large fillings,
It is preferred in aesthetic procedures performed to correct fractures, shape and color disorders in dental implants.<\/p>\n

Bridge<\/b><\/p>\n

Bridges are fixed prostheses applied by taking support from the teeth in the side sections in patients with one or more missing teeth. In this procedure, neighboring teeth are reduced in size to fill the tooth gaps. After the measurements are taken, the bridge prosthesis is applied to the tooth with a special adhesive and the missing tooth or tooth gaps are filled. While porcelain is generally used in bridge prostheses, durable full porcelain or zirconium is preferred as the substructure material.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
